This Privacy Policy explains how PestPilot ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. We collect only what is needed to run the app, and we do not sell your personal information.
Photos you submit. When you use pest identification, the photo you choose is uploaded to our servers and processed by an AI service to generate the identification result; it is not written to persistent storage.
Photos may include images of skin or bite areas if you use the bite identification feature. These photos are used solely to generate the identification result and are not used for medical purposes.
Device and usage data. We generate an anonymous user identifier stored on your device, and collect basic device information (model, OS version, app version, preferred language), IP address, and in-app usage events (for example, when an identification is requested). This helps us operate, secure, and improve the app.
We use your IP address to infer your approximate location (U.S. state level) to improve identification accuracy. We do not collect precise GPS location.
Purchase records. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive subscription status notifications from Apple (such as purchase, renewal, or refund events) for accounting and audit purposes. We never receive your payment card details.
Attribution data. If you installed the app through Apple Search Ads, we may receive attribution information from Apple's AdServices framework to measure advertising effectiveness.
We use the information above to: provide the identification service; maintain and improve app features; process and audit subscriptions; analyze aggregate usage to improve the product; and prevent abuse.
We share data only with service providers necessary to run the app: Apple (subscriptions and attribution), our cloud hosting provider, and the AI service that processes identification photos. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Your data (including photos) may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside the United States.
Usage events and subscription records are retained for operational and accounting purposes. Photos are processed to generate results and are not used to build advertising profiles. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).
Photos are processed in memory and are never written to persistent storage.
We use industry-standard measures (including transport encryption) to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data associated with your anonymous identifier. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below and include the UID shown at the bottom of the app's settings page.
PestPilot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through in-app notice or other reasonable means. Please review the latest version periodically.
