Welcome to AltiCam. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the app. By downloading, installing, or using AltiCam, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please do not use the app.
AltiCam is an altitude watermark camera. You can take a photo or choose an existing one, and the app burns readings — altitude, latitude and longitude, place name, and time — onto the image, which you can then save or share. The app also provides a dial screen that presents the current readings as switchable gauges, including a full-screen mode; the dial additionally shows heading and barometric pressure, which are not watermark fields.
All altitude, position, pressure, and heading readings are provided for general reference and casual record-keeping only. They are not survey-grade, and they must not be relied on for aviation, mountaineering, diving, navigation, emergency response, or any other purpose where an inaccurate reading could cause injury or loss. GPS altitude, barometric altitude, and map elevation data routinely disagree with each other. Always use properly certified instruments when accuracy matters.
AltiCam does not require registration and does not create an account for you. There is no user name, no password, and no profile held by us. Your settings, your saved preferences, and your photos stay on your device, and you are responsible for safeguarding your device and its contents. The app does keep a random identifier in the device Keychain purely so a subscription purchase can be reconciled with the installation that made it; see the Privacy Policy for details.
When using AltiCam you agree not to:
1. use the app in any way that violates applicable law or regulation, including photographing people or places where you have no right to do so;
2. infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party;
3. present a watermarked image as an authentic, unaltered, or officially certified record of a location or elevation, or otherwise use the app to deceive;
4. attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the app, its in-app purchases, or the third-party services it relies on.
All content included in AltiCam (including but not limited to the dial and watermark template designs, text, images, software code, and interface design) is owned by the app operator or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit such content without prior written permission. You retain full ownership of the photos you take or import; because photos are processed entirely on your device, we obtain no license to them and never receive them.
The free version of AltiCam is supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob, including an occasional app-open ad and optional rewarded video ads that you may choose to watch in exchange for temporary access to premium templates. You are not required to watch any ad in order to use the core features of the app. An active subscription removes ads. See our Privacy Policy for details on the data advertising SDKs collect.
AltiCam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability. We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate readings, from decisions made in reliance on a watermark, from force majeure events (including natural disasters, network failures, or system maintenance), or from interruptions of third-party services such as Apple's location and geocoding services, Google's advertising services, or the App Store.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate all or part of the service at any time. For free features, changes may be made without prior notice. If the service is terminated, we will notify you through an in-app announcement or other reasonable means.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be published through in-app notice or other reasonable means. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, please stop using the app; continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation; failing that, it shall be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction where the operator is located.
